OnlyFans keeps growing and is becoming an increasingly massive platform, and it’s doing so at a pace that continues to draw attention. What’s important is that more and more users are subscribing—and not just viewers. As we know, within the social network there are two main types of users: content creators, who charge those who want access to their profile, and viewer users, who must pay a monthly fee for each account they want to subscribe to. Although fans also keep joining the platform, the number of artist users who are joining to start monetizing their content is very large, and there are some important aspects these people should keep in mind.
As we mentioned, to monetize content through OnlyFans you don’t need to be an expert or a professional; practically anyone who is clear about what they want to convey and has the equipment for productions (it doesn’t need to be expensive—you can do it “at home”) can do it. What you do need to keep in mind is that when we register as content creator users on OnlyFans, we have to go through a verification, which often trips up many users.
The reality is that verification within the social network for this type of user isn’t complex, and it’s the first step we have to take before we start posting photos or videos to our profile. That’s why, in this article, we’re going to explain some important points about verification, and we’ll also lay out a step-by-step so everyone can complete it.
Why do I have to verify my OnlyFans account?
As mentioned earlier, account verification is mandatory for users who have content-creator profiles, and many wonder why it’s required. There are many reasons, but one of the main ones is being able to detect when a minor is trying to promote themselves and thus restrict their access. OnlyFans can only be used by people over 18 years old, and this filter can be applied during verification. In addition, this step helps identify people who might be trying to commit certain offenses, such as posting inappropriate or stolen content.
In short, the act of verifying the account—and its mandatory nature—is related to the idea of providing much more security to the platform, thereby encouraging more users to join without worrying that content might be stolen or that something inappropriate might occur.
How to verify my OnlyFans account step by step
Step 1: Register on OnlyFans
The first step we need to take, if we haven’t already, is to register on OnlyFans. Creating an account is very simple: first, go to the official OnlyFans website, where everything is set up for you to log in. However, you should click the button that says Sign up for OnlyFans to proceed to the next screen.
On the next view, you simply need to fill in three important fields: the name, the email address, and the password you will use each time you want to log in. Once you’ve completed those three items, just tap the button that says Sign Up, and after identity verification via email, the account will be created.

Step 2: Log in to the account
The next step is to log in, although if you just created the account as indicated in Step 1, it’s most common to already be logged in. Otherwise, you simply need to enter your access credentials, which are the email you registered with and the password you set at that time. Once you’ve completed those two items, all that’s left is to click the Log In button located just below.

Step 3: Add bank
When we’re inside the OnlyFans account, everything is available except the ability to post content, and that’s because we haven’t completed verification yet. So we need to go to the profile button located in the upper-right corner of the screen, and when we press it, a dropdown with different options opens. There we must tap the option that says Add bank (to earn).
Step 4: Select the country
Once we tap the add bank option, a new screen appears—still within the OnlyFans platform—asking us to complete a very important piece of information: the country of residence. So we have to tap the down “arrow” next to the word Country, and a dropdown with different options opens. We simply select the correct one and tap the button that says Next.
A notice automatically appears telling us that we’re going to be redirected to another site outside of OnlyFans, and to proceed we have to press the Confirm button.
Step 5: Choose document and upload photos
On the page we’re redirected to, we can see three document options to choose from for identity verification. We can choose to verify with a passport, an ID card, or a driver’s license. We just need to press the one we want to use and then take the photo.
The photo is captured directly on that page. We must press the button that says Start, and the app’s camera opens automatically so we can take the picture. Two shots are required: one of the front of the document and another of the back.

Step 6: Facial recognition
After we’ve captured the images of our document, passport, or driver’s license, the next step is to take a photo of our face. The process is the same as with the document: we have to tap the button that says Start, and only after that does the camera activate. We need to try to align our head as much as possible within the oval that’s shown, and it’s recommended to do this in a well-lit place; otherwise, verification may fail.
The reason this photo is requested is to identify the match between the document photo and the selfie, to prevent false verifications.

Step 7: Complete personal information
The last step we need to carry out is to complete the personal information requested by the platform. After taking the final selfie, we’re redirected back to OnlyFans, where everything is set up for us to finish the verification process. Some of the fields we need to fill in are address, city, state or province, ZIP/postal code, marital status, social media details, among many others.
Once we’ve finished all those details, we need to press the blue button that says Submit for approval, and in this way we’ll have completed the process, so all that’s left is to wait for confirmation that the verification was successful.
