Before you can set a price or get paid on OnlyFans, you have to prove who you are. For most creators, verification takes a few minutes and is approved within a day or so. For the rest, a blurry photo or a name that does not match turns it into days of waiting. This guide explains what you need, how each step works, why applications get rejected and how to fix them.

What you need to verify your OnlyFans account
- A valid government ID: a passport, driver’s license or national ID card. Student cards and work badges do not count. It cannot be expired.
- A phone with a good camera, for the ID photos and the selfie.
- Your legal name and address, exactly as they appear on your documents.
- Your bank details, in the same legal name.
- A bright room and a plain wall. Most rejections come down to the photo.
- Your public social media links, in case you are asked for them.
If you have a choice, use your passport. It has one side to photograph and is easy to read.
How to verify your OnlyFans account, step by step
Menu names can change, but the process usually looks like this:
- Confirm your email. OnlyFans sends a link when you sign up, and a banner on the site reminds you until you click it.
- Fill in your profile with a display name, a username and a photo.
- Open the left menu and choose Add bank. It may be under More. This is where the creator setup starts.
- Enter your details and country, then accept the terms and continue to verification.
- Follow the identity check. It is handled by a verification provider, usually Ondato, on a separate screen. On a computer, you may get a QR code to continue on your phone.
- Photograph your ID. Show the whole document, with both sides if it has two. Uploaded files should be JPG or PNG and under 7 MB.
- Take the selfie or face scan. Use good light and a plain background, with no hat or glasses. You may also be asked for a photo of yourself holding your ID.
- Wait for the result. OnlyFans emails you when it is decided.
How long does OnlyFans verification take?
Most applications are decided within 24 to 72 hours, and many in less than a day. It can take several days when there is a backlog or when a person has to review your application. If nothing has changed after about five business days, write to support instead of sending a new application.

Read the rejection message before you do anything else, because it usually tells you which of these applies. Fix that one thing and submit again. Do not send the same photos a second time, and do not send new applications while one is still under review: it can slow things down.

Why does OnlyFans keep asking for face verification?
This is one of the most common complaints, and OnlyFans does not publish a list of what triggers it. If your account was already verified and you are being asked again, these are the most likely explanations:
- A security check on your login, for example from a new device, a new location or a VPN.
- A change to your account, such as new bank or personal details.
- A compliance review. Platforms that handle adult content have to keep their records up to date, so a new check can appear even if you changed nothing.
- A failed scan. If the result is not clear, the prompt comes back. Try better light, turn off any VPN, and use the OnlyFans site in your phone’s main browser.
If the request repeats after a clean attempt, write to support instead of scanning again and again. And be careful: only complete a check inside your OnlyFans account. A message that sends you to some other site to “re-verify” may be a scam.
Is OnlyFans ID verification safe?
